The Good Citizen

It ain't over 'til it's over. I am a good citizen, i keep current with the latest news "a.m.a.p.", i vote after doing my voting homework, but in the end God will still be in control, and that is my nirvana, that is my peace. If i did'nt trust God with my life, it would not be worth living. I think it is important to stay current and fight for what is good and right in this world, for God commands us to be good stewards with what He has created for us, but never to doubt in His will for our lives. There are a lot of "Christians" out there who don't think they need to vote or be involved with their community, state, or country, but they are WRONG!! Jesus said, "Give Caesar what is due Caesar, and God what is due God". We need to pay taxes, vote and be involved, for as long as we are on this earth, we have to live with the consequences of our participation or non-participation. We must be pro-active and prayerful. There are so many horrible things that happen everyday,  in our communities and all over the world, but there is a God who is there and who cares. I believe that no matter who wins each election, or what propostion passes, God is at work in the hearts and minds of man. I know that God uses me as His instrument in spite of my weaknesses and failings. I also believe He does the same with others, especially those in power. Let's take the fight to the voting booth, the internet, and beyond, but also to our prayer closets.
For all you believers and non-believers alike:

When we walk with the Lord, in the light of His word
What a glory He sheds on our way.
When we do His good will, He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey.

It might seem simple to some of you, but much of the wisest advice comes from the simplest of thoughts.

The unexamined life is really not worth living. Socrates
